About Male Sexual Dysfunction

In men, cases for erectile dysfunction will more than double over the next 25 years due to population trends. The worldwide incidence of erectile dysfunction estimated at over 152 million men, with a forecast of 322 million men by the year 2025.

About 80% of erectile dysfunction (ED) goes unreported while of the 52% of men who suffer from erectile dysfunction, 17% have minimal ED, 25% have moderate ED, and 10% have complete ED – all of which have effective treatment options available to them.

Patient history, testing and evaluation will allow us to identify and diagnose the condition and enable us to evaluate the various treatment options that can be administered safely.
Our protocols include clinical approach, integrative medical solutions, and mechanical options depending upon the diagnosis. Included with the course you will receive "standard of care" in regards to your personal situation.

The approach used
1. Initial Medical Consultation (Medical history and Physical exam, review our protocols, standardized testing and alternative testing is presented and review treatment options)
2. Initial psychological evaluation including the partner (discussion and treatment options given premature ejaculation, sex aids etc.)
3. Second medical consultation (review test results, safe administering of any solutions including contraindications, side effects, and possible complications)
4. Initiation of non-invasive medical approaches Integrative Approaches and Combination Therapies, such as:
  • Initial medical treatments (i.e. PDE 5 Inhibitors)
  • Possible Hormone Replacement
  • Secretagogues
5. Continue sexual counseling sessions: The main thing to expect is to be talking about what is going on in your life. Therapists are usually skilled at helping you to do this, so don’t be worried about not having anything to say. Some people find it useful to keep a journal or notes between therapy sessions to remind them what they want to talk about.
6. Reviewing invasive approaches
  • Direct genital Shot – PRP
  • Alprostadil (PGE 1) intracavernous injections or intraurethral.

Female Sexual Dysfunction

Women suffer from sexual dysfunction more than men due to differing perceptions of sexual intercourse - about 43% of women in America suffer from female sexual dysfunction. Painful sex in women, inability to orgasm and vaginal dryness can all manifest as female sexual dysfunction.

While Erectile Dysfunction in men has been extensively researched, very little has been completed on Female Sexual Dysfunction other than psychological causes. The causes of female sexual dysfunction can be an assortment of issues all intermingled, making it more complex than in males.

Only recently we have been able to effectively identify and give definition to the disorder. During the initial medical and psychological evaluation, we will be able to pinpoint the problem based upon the following criteria:

1. Hypoactive sexual desire disorder: Chronic Lack of interest in sexual activity
2. Sexual aversion disorder: Persistent or recurrent phobic avoidance of sexual contact with a partner
3. Sexual arousal disorder: Persistent or recurrent inability to attain or maintain sexual excitement
4. Orgasmic disorder: chronic difficulty in attaining (or inability to attain) orgasm following sufficient arousal
5. Dyspareunia: Pain during intercourse
6. Vaginismus: Involuntary vaginal spasms that interfere with penetration
7. Non-coital sexual pain: genital pain following stimulation during foreplay

Testing, evaluation, and treatment options vary greatly based upon the presence of these symptoms which can be stand- alone or combined. Treating female sexual disorders requires additional testing that can possible correlate deficiencies and/or other medical related issues such as drug interaction/sensitivities, psychological, or hormonal. An extensive amount of time is spent on determining the types of testing, typical results, and possible remedies to these disorders.

The approach used
1. Initial Medical Consultation (Medical history and Physical exam, review our protocols, standardized testing and alternative testing is presented and review treatment options)
2. Initial psychological evaluation including the partner (discussion and treatment options given premature ejaculation, sex aids etc.)
3. Second medical consultation (will review medical conditions, past surgeries, home medications, that can affect sexual response in women, test results, safe administering of any of solutions including contraindications, side effects, and possible complications)
4. Continue sexual counseling sessions
5. Once diagnosed, we offer the “standard of care” and protocols in treating these various symptoms through clinical approach, integrative approach, and in naturopathic solutions
6. Direct genital shot is a simple, nonsurgical, physician-administered PRP treatment that can augment and rejuvenate the Grafenberg spot (G-Spot), clitoris, and labia

A Note From Our Counselor

Sexual disorders are like people - they come in all shapes, sizes, and kinds. Receiving such diagnosis doesn't mean something is "wrong" with you, only that you're experiencing an issue that can suddenly affect anyone, at any time, for any or no reason at all. While many sexual issues can be traced back to a physical problem or a sudden change in one's life circumstances, the causes of many sexual disorders are not well-known or understood. There are a wide variety of treatments ranging from medication, hormone replacement, to specific forms of psychotherapy that can help virtually everyone with any sexual concern or dysfunction.*
